It is not recommended for service above 600 Degree F (316 Degree C) because long - time exposures in the 800 Degree F to 1200 Degree F range result in precipitation of a carbon containing phase and loss of ductility. Our Steel Rods offered by Hitesh Metal was a modification to control carbon which keeps it from being embrittled by inter - granular precipitates at temperatures of 600 Degree F to 1400 Degree F in many processes. These attributes, combined with good weldability, make the metal highly fabricable.
